When the first humans emerged on earth, they were part of the perfect order of nature, they were an Inseparable entity of their natural environment.
Today we think of these first humans as being "savages ".
The early humans survived overcoming challenges ın nature, thus developing and becoming advanced step by step ın their dangerous but also nurturing environment.
Eventually they started to define themselves as a superior and a seperate entity ın the natural world.
Today we seem to be concluding our acts of conquering the nature by destroying ıt and consequently by also destroying our own breed.
Even ıf we today claim that we are the most civilized humans of all time, we should consider the question:
Aren't we the real "savages" starting wars, exploiting the nature with unsatiable greed and destroying ıt with no remorse at all ?
This jewelry collection represents a romantic nostalgia, looking back to a distant past of a harmonious way of living as one with the whole of nature.
I wanted to make pieces of jewelry that would remind us of our true nature, unimpaired by ego and the tricks of the mind, using all the pure and permanent material I collected over many years .
The pebbles have existed for possibly millions of years, maybe originally being a part of a rock, hill or even a mountain.
...The shells were once home and protection for sea creatures
...the trees were shelter, sources of food and raw material as well as companions to humans energetically connecting the earth to the sky.
...all the plants and the flowers decorated the earth, fed animals, also carried the codes of rebirth and thus the future.
We may think that at the beginning all life began ın the water, while gradually seaweeds and plants on soil emerged, and maybe the first human was a seaweed or plant rather than a creature of flesh and blood. Not to forget, we still have a vegetative nerve system working at the lowest level ın our bodys.
So I truely hope that my collection, called " Savages," reminds us that we should try connecting again with the whole creation on earth. I hope also that the collection clears our perception of being seperate from and superior to nature. Only then can we start to create a new approach where man and nature can live ın harmony and nurture each other again. Only then can our souls find peace.
İnsan yeryüzünde ilk var olduğunda içinde yaşadığı doğanın bir parçasıydı; onunla uyumlu yaşamanın bilgisine sahipti.
Doğanın mükemmel düzeni onu da içeriyor, besliyor, geliştiriyordu.
Biz bu zamanlarda yaşamış insana " vahşi" gözüyle bakarız.
İnsan aklı bu ortam içinde geliştikçe kendini doğadan ayrı, doğadan üstün bir varlık olarak konumlandırdı ve doğayı yenmekle başlayan yolculuğunu doğayı yok etmekle noktalamak üzere....
Bugün insanlar medeni olduklarını iddia etseler de aslında savaşlar çıkaran, doğayı kazanma hırslarına kurban ederek yok eden, kendi ürettikleri gıdalarla kendilerini zehirleyip, kendilerini de yavaş yavaş yok etmekte olan asıl vahşiler değiller mi ?
Bu serginin konusu, biraz romantik bir geri dönüşü, bir hatırlamayı hedef alıyor.
Gerçek doğamızı, doğayla bir ve bütün, aklın oyunlarıyla bozulmamış halimizi bize hatırlatacak, tamamen doğadan, seneler içinde topladığım malzemeleri bir araya getirerek takılar yapmak istedim.
Deniz kenarından topladığım taşlar, bin yıllarca önce belki birer dağ, tepe ya da koca bir kayaydı....
...deniz kabukları, insanla birlikte o dönemlerde var olan deniz canlılarının evi, korunağıydı....
...ağaçlar hem korunak, hem çeşitli ürünleriyle hammadde, besin; enerjisiyle yeri göğe bağlayan yoldaştı....
...tüm bitkiler ve çiçekler yeryüzünü bezeyen, süsleyen, besleyen, yeniden doğuşun kodlarını, yaşamın sürekliliğini, geleceği özünde taşıyan varlıklardı.
